Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) offer skill education in a number of ways, including:
Pre-vocational education
KVs offer pre-vocational education to prepare students for future careers. This education is skill-based and helps students integrate into the workforce. Some examples of skill modules offered include basic computer skills, entrepreneurship, and communication skills.
Skill hubs
KVs have identified 300 schools to be developed as Skill Hubs to provide skill training for out-of-school youth. These hubs offer skill courses after school hours in areas such as IT-ITES, Electronics & HW, Agriculture, Apparels, Made-ups, and Home Furnishing.
Vocational subjects
KVs offer vocational subjects such as Artificial Intelligence to students from Class VIII.
Industry collaboration
KVs collaborate with local industries and businesses to provide students with practical experience in their chosen vocational fields.
Experiential learning
KVs emphasize experiential learning methods, such as workshops, internships, and practical exercises.
Skill development can help students in many ways, including:
